What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

Your friend is one of 40 intrepid riders who will be cycling over 250miles (400km) over 4 days across England. The ride starts in the West of England at Highgrove House and finishes of the East Coast at Sandringham in Norfolk. The route takes in Oxford, Windsor, London and Cambridge with plenty of lung and leg testing hills to conquer along the way!

When you are donating, please state the name of your friend in the message box so that we can attribute your donation to their personal fundraising target.

The hardy riders will be cycling 6 to 8 hours a day covering on average 60+ miles (100kms)per day, pushing their bodies to the limit. Please support them as they need every ounce of motivation they can muster to soldier on through the unpredictable British weather, roads, motorists and of course hills!

Follow their journey on the Instagram page @Palaceonwheels2021 where you will see daily updates of their struggles!

All funds raised will help people in the poorest parts of South Asia to rebuild their lives. The pandemic has been absolutely devastating - in addition to the health crisis, schools have been closed for over a year, parents have lost their livelihoods and can't support their families, child trafficking and exploitation is rife, and all of this is having a huge impact on people's mental health.

Fulfilling the challenge to help us transform lives, the cyclists will be raising money to support fantastic British Asian Trust work across South Asia including:

Child anti-trafficking programme, including a long term large scale goal to transform the city of Jaipur into a child labour free model city, focusing on business transformation to ensure child labour free supply chains.

Education programme in Delhi and other communities to ensure the poorest people have an opportunity to lift themselves out of the cycle of poverty and become self sufficient, net contributors to the economy and society in years to come.

Palaces on Wheels is the fifth challenge of the Most Exotic Challenge, led by Rohit Chadha and Bobby Ahluwalia, with the aim of raising over £1m for the British Asian Trust’s programmes.

Since 2016 the group has cycled in India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Tanzania and has raised an incredible £950,000 for the British Asian Trust’s programmes.

You can meet the team here.

Let’s help them reach over £1million by supporting them on this latest challenge!

Thank you for your support!
