Story
Sally 33 is a wife to Liam and a mother of four children, Ryan 12, Adam 11, Maisy 6 and George 2. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Bowel cancer in May 2015 despite being misdiagnosed with IBS on multiple occasions over the previous 4 years.
Emergency surgery and chemotherapy worked to shrink the tumours in her bowel, liver, lungs, lymph nodes and peritoneum initially but since ceased to react. Doctors told sally the cancer was incurable and gave her three years to live - but she and her family are determined not to give up.
After doing their own research they have found other proven treatments available - Sally has now started treatment at The Hallwang clinic in Germany where she is being offered advanced immunotherapies- Combined treatment including low dose chemotherapies, immunotherapies, dentritic cell vaccine and personalised cancer vaccinations. These treatments have proven to cure the NHS incurable'.
The treatments not cheap, its £25k for each course of treatment and Sally needs 12 within 12 month. Sally had her first lot of treatment before Christmas and is now due her second. Her family have funded around £25k themselves and help from various fundraising events has paid towards her second lot, but more funds are needed for her next bout of treatment.
To raise funds we (Vicki Medley, Jean Scott, John Scott, Chrissy Simpson (nee Medley) and Pam Medley)are taking part in the ‘ We will walk 500 miles’ challenge - a continuous relay journey from John O’Groats down to Sally’s home town of Silsden and starts 20 January 2017.
The events been advertised locally and in Scotland, which has resulted in volunteers coming together from all over Scotland and the North of England to raise funds.
We will be completing the final leg of the journey from Gargrave to Sally’s house in Silsden on the 28 January. We would really appreciate any donations you can give to raise money towards her treatment, to keep Sally here, where she belongs…with her family.
Thank you.
