I've raised £3000 to Create quality photo albums to take into Dementia Homes and to elderly people who are isolated to trigger memories and create conversation.

On the 20th August 2011 my sister Heather Tweddell created a Facebook group called Wallsend Memories and Photographs which has over 11,000 members. Members post old and new photographs of Wallsend and share memories of past and present-day news of Wallsend.
Now we also have a Reminiscence Club meeting at Howdon Library, which opened on 7th July 2015. We have regular photo displays in Wallsend Library, re-unions, we organised a fun day at Segedunum museum, we have a photograph display in Wallsend shopping centre and recently have began organising tours of old buildings and churches in Wallsend. We also have an offshoot of Wallsend Memories on Facebook called Wallsend Wildlife. This has over 550 members. We began this group on 28th Feb 2014. It is a group for Wallsend Wildlife photos.
We want to expand and create good quality photo albums to enable us to take them into Care Homes, Dementia Homes and to any elderly people who are isolated in their own homes, creating social environments which trigger memories and encourage conversations to take place.
To do this we need a good printer/scanner, ink, paper, binders, laminator, storage boxes, advertising and money to cover transport costs.
