I've raised £1000 to help rebuild Pam's family home in Juchitan that was destroyed in the recent earthquake.

**UPDATE**
Thank you for your generous donations; as you know, at my work place the Castle Cafe in Taunton we are hosting a fundraiser for the same cause due to the many earthquakes that took place recently in Mexico.
In the first week we raised £140 pounds that we sent immediately to Mexico in Juchitan for the goods and food that people urgently needed.
In the second week, we raised £180 and a further £35 at my husband's work. It sent to Puebla, the other state that was affected on the 19th of September by another terrible earthquake. This weekend we are sending food and supplies for the most poor and people who lost their homes and jobs.
So many people are sleeping in tents and empty plots, and because of the bad rains, the conditions are not pleasant. Help from the local authorities has been very slow, so we've been relying on eachother's help.
More updates to come next week. Thank you for everything so far.
From the Cafe:
"Whether you're a regular with us or not, if you've been to the cafe, you've probably had the lucky opportunity to come across Pam's smiling face.
But last week, she lost all reason to smile when an earthquake shook its way through her home of Juchitan, in the Oaxaca region of South West Mexico. The violent tremor robbed many people of their homes, leaving one-third of the city uninhabitable.
Her family was no exception. The earthquake left their homes in rubble and ruin, too.
So this week, we’ve come together for Pam by creating a few traditional Mexican specials. Half of the proceeds will be sent directly to her family in Juchitan, so they can start rebuilding their homes and their lives.
Throughout the week, enjoy quesadillas, tortilla soup, horchata and much more.
With so many natural disasters taking place globally, it’s hard to know how to help, or where to start. But in this particular case, you have a real opportunity to help someone in need who has become very much a part of our community here in Taunton."
