Story

Hi all. My Mam is a postal worker, and whilst out delivering her electric bike was stolen! This happened on Wednesday 6th May. The bike was securely chained to a lamppost and 15 mins later my Mam returned and discovered to her dismay her bike had been taken, the chain had been cut. My Mam (Pam) is a key worker, and just like every other postal worker or delivery driver is working extra hard to ensure letters and parcels get to their intended destination in good time. The royal mail is overwhelmed with packages at the moment. My Mam chose to cycle to do her rounds as royal mail staff are not allowed to share a van now due to social distancing guidelines. She chose an electric bike to make her deliveries that little bit easier. Having been on her feet delivering mail in Sunderland for 35 years she opted into the cycle to work scheme initiated by the royal mail. The bike also helped eliviate pressure on her legs as she also suffers from shin splints and arthritis. Of course discovering her bike was gone was very upsetting for her. Thank you to all that shared the post, your support and kind words mean a lot to her and to her family! if we only raise £10, it will make a world of difference. Thank you for caring about my Mam, and lets champion on and celebrate our key workers! Hurray for Pam the Postie! #pamthepostie
