Story

Hello. I am running the Ealing Half Marathon again this year with my dedicated other half, Sital, to raise funds in preparation for our next visit to support our ancestral village schools in India, Bakapur and Langeri.
A quick update! Having worked hard to raise the funds last year we made our long journey to India in April 2017.
You will have seen from the video that our charity Education Independence and Bhangraburnoff shared recently on Facebook, that our first visit to India was very successful. Once there we were humbled to meet the staff and the wonderful children. With the funds raised we were able to purchase a year’s supply of stationery for both schools, sandals for the children, chairs for staff and a water filter to access clean water on site. We also treated the children a session of Bhangraburnoff followed by a lunch of veggie burgers, drinks and sweets which was a real treat for them all!
We receive regular updates on the progress of the children. They have taken part in several district competitions for writing, art, speech and sports days. They have come first, second and third in these competitions and won medals and trophies. We are very proud of their achievements and want to continue to support them.
Many thanks to all of you who made contributions last year. You made this happen. Please support us again this year and look out for updates on Facebook!
