Para Niños de Bonnie (Bonnie's Children) is an international charity that carries on the activities of Bonnie Swain Salazar of Riverside, California, much loved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, teacher and mentor.

We work with children both in Bonnie's local community and abroad, for the purposes of poverty eradication through education, and to ensure a better overall standard of living and well-being for those in the most vulnerable situations. (Our website is in progress, as Bonnie passed away very recently, at the age of 81. In the meantime, you can follow Bonnie S. Salazar on Facebook for updates.)

Bonnie dedicated her entire adult life to the well-being and education of children. After her five sons had grown up, she became a schoolteacher and spent both her professional and personal life supporting primarily disadvantaged children. As well as running a school classroom where pupils gained direct experience with all kinds of animals and things nature-related, her love of storytelling inspired her to create reading kits, containing books and hand-sewn glove puppets. These "Book and Puppet" kits were her way of promoting literacy among those who were otherwise unable to access such resources outside of the schoolroom. In her local community, she was a regular volunteer for Para Niños, an organization that supported vulnerable young mothers, predominantly from ethnic minorities.

Your donations will ensure that Bonnie's legacy lives on, and that these, and other projects are continued, so children both locally and around the world can be supported in the specific ways that she would have liked.
