We teamed up with a UK charity Home-Start, West Berkshire branch to put an end to loneliness and isolation of new parents with babies and elderly in care homes.

It is a groundbreaking project that aims to create richer, intergenerational social networks in communities and prevent new parents and elderly from becoming depressed.

Isolation is a major risk factor to the well-being of all of us. It often leads to postnatal depression in new parents, and despair in elderly care home residents.

We aim to bring young parents, babies and elderly together in once-a-week informal meet-ups with a cup of tea, so they can spend a fun and quality time together and beat the blues of loneliness.

The £750 will fund a 12-week long pilot project. If this innovative project is successful we will then roll it out to other communities and care homes to reach as many new parents, babies and elderly as possible.
