Story
Parker James Atkinson 03-07-2025 - 21-08-2025
Parker was born prematurely at 28 weeks and was immediately transferred to NICU at Addenbrookes Children's Hospital in Cambridge. Parker spent 7 weeks bravely fighting complications caused by the premature birth and Noonan Syndrome, unfortunately despite the care and efforts of the NICU team on 21-08-2025 Parker grew his angel wings and passed peacefully, with his mum and dad by his side.
In Parker's memory we will be raising money for two charities,
The Paediatric and Neonatal Decision Support and Retrieval Service, known as PaNDR, part of Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
We are an NHS service and we provide critical care retrievals for neonates and children up to the age of 16 years requiring transfer from different locations across the East of England. We also provide in-utero cot/bed location.
In addition to specialist retrieval, we offer clinical advice to health professionals caring for all children, from extremely preterm infants up to 16 years of age.
PaNDR transferred Parker to Addenbrookes Hospital on the morning he was born and the charity is completely voluntary.
Love Leo is an informal peer support group based in Havering, that meets twice a month to offer support and advice to local families that have suffered the heartbreak of losing a baby, before, after or during birth.
The charity holds informal meets and events throughout the year and are completely self funded, with all funds raised going towards helping organise these events.
