Story
I’ll be completing the London to Brighton Cycle ride (55 miles plus 10 additional to get to Clapham) on the morning of Sunday 13th September 2026 to raise money for the social and activities team at Parkview care home Bexleyheath.
Dad (Mick, Room 26) has been a resident at Parkview since January 2023. One of the things that really stood out to us when choosing Parkview, and set it apart from some of the other homes we visited, was the range of social activities and outings available to residents.
Residents are given the opportunity to enjoy all sorts of trips and activities – from watching games at Welling United and boat trips on the Medway, to days out in London, visits to local parks, supermarkets and restaurants, to name just a few.
These activities make a real difference. They give residents the chance to get out and about, enjoy new experiences and, most importantly, have some fun.
What many people may not realise is that the activities team receives a very limited budget from Avante, so much of what they are able to organise relies on additional fundraising.
That’s why I’m doing this ride.
Every penny raised will go directly to the activities team at Parkview in Bexleyheath, helping them continue to provide these outings, activities and experiences for the residents. The money raised will stay at Parkview and will not be shared amongst other Avante care homes.
So, if you’re able to sponsor me – no matter how much – it will be hugely appreciated and will go towards something that makes a genuine difference Dad and his fellow residents. It’s been 20 years since they released
