I've raised £2000 to raise awareness about organ donation and to be able to offer emotional support & financial advice to others needing a transplant.

Our aim is to raise awareness to others about the importance of organ donation and encourage others to sign the register, as when a loved one dies a part of you is lost. We also want to encourage others to give a part of them by donating their organs.
'Part of Me' would like to be able to offer emotional support and financial advice to people who are going through or have been through personal and family issues relating to liver disease and failure and transplants.
We will look to:
1. Support people with financial advice.
2. Support people with emotional advice.
3. Create a community where experiences are shared.
4. Create a caring environment which eases pain and uncertainty.
Statistics show that there are currently 6,500 people are on the UK national transplant waiting list - in the last financial year over 400 people have sadly passed away waiting.
A little bit about Glen's story
Glen had liver disease for 12 years, and in 2015 it reached a point where the only option was to find a suitable donor for a new liver to allow Glen to survive. For this he had to go live on the organ donation waiting list, and all we could do was wait for a donor match to become available.
Unfortunately for Glen this sadly didn't happen, as whilst enduring the agonising wait for that phone call to say they had found a suitable organ donor match, Glen became extremely poorly and got complications in his lungs along with pneumonia, which tragically and suddenly ended up with Glen fighting for his life in intensive care for 10 days. Sadly Glen lost his fight for life on 20th April 2016.
Any help by donations will be greatly appreciated to enable us to keep Glen's memory alive by raising awareness and by enabling us to reach out and help others.
