UPDATE - CHRISTMAS LIGHTS APPEAL - THANK YOU

Hello a big thank you to everyone who contributed to our Christmas Lights appeal.

We raised about £750 in total - here on this JustGiving page and at the collection points at The Spar and Dales Market Corner. This is in addition to the grants we received from Harrogate Borough Council and North Yorkshire County Council.

Your support will help us to maintain the heart warming festive lighting displays that bring so much Christmas cheer to Pateley Bridge each year.

The money raised will go towards repairing and maintaining the current lights, but also purchasing new lights for this year to replace those that at are the end of their lives.

We hope you are enjoying Pateley Bridge’s Christmas lights. We need your help if we are to continue with this level of display next year.

The Town Council works hard to ensure that the town has a festive light display to be proud of. To keep costs down, we have not added to the display this year. Despite this maintaining, installing, and storing Christmas lights is always expensive.

Many of the Christmas lights we own are very old and are failing. Although our contractors are doing their best to keep them going, they say that many light sets will not be able to be used again next year. Some lights are already not on display this year, as they are in disrepair.

The Council has applied for grants for the lights. We thank Harrogate Borough Council for its funding. However, receiving it is dependent on us providing match funding.

Also, funding for the new lights the town needs is above and beyond what we might receive in grants.

As you might expect, it is cheaper to buy new lights in January or February. If we are going to make Christmas 2023 sparkle, then we need your help.
