The 3 Peaks Challenge – 3 Mountains, 6 Middle-Aged Men, 1 Incredible Cause

On 29th May, six middle-aged men (with more determination than training) are tackling the 3 Peaks Challenge: climbing the UK’s three highest mountains in 3 days to raise money for Heritage House Scouts, a group that helps children and young adults with disabilities experience the adventure and community of Scouts.

We’ll be travelling over 1,200 miles in a minibus - starting with Ben Nevis in Scotland, then heading to Scafell Pike in the Lake District, and finally on to Snowdon in Wales. After a night’s rest at each stop, we’ll take on the climbs, aiming to reach the summit of Snowdon at sunrise for an unforgettable finish.

It’s going to be tough, physically and mentally, but nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by the children we’re supporting. That’s why we’re proud to take this on.

Heritage House Scouts (Inclusive Scouts Group) - Empowering Children with Disabilities Through Adventure

We’re a dedicated Scouts group based in Buckinghamshire, supporting children and young adults with disabilities. Our group includes incredible individuals with a wide range of needs.

Our mission is simple: to give every child the opportunity to experience the adventure, fun, and personal growth that Scouts offers - regardless of ability. From camping and orienteering to sailing, fire building, and earning Scout badges, our members get to enjoy all the experiences a typical Scouts group would, in a fully accessible and supportive environment.

But Heritage House Scouts is more than just a group - it’s a community. It’s a place where friendships are formed, confidence is built, and families find connection, understanding, and respite.

We run exciting day trips, weekend family camps, and weeklong adventures - all tailored to meet the needs of our members. However, these amazing experiences come at a cost. While we’re powered by passionate volunteers, last year the charity faced a financial loss.

We’re asking for your help to keep this life-changing group going. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us give these children and young adults the opportunities they deserve.
