Story

“I believe this is possibly the most important thing children, teens and adults might learn for their life. Please make it available to everyone!” Parent feedback

Why is this needed?

According to the 2023 NHS England and The Mental Health of Children and Young People report, a staggering 20.3% of 8 to 16-year-olds had a probable mental disorder. This statistic has nearly doubled since 2017 meaning that an incredible 1 in 5 children and young people are suffering with issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, poor sleep, loneliness and bullying. Another recent NHS study found that antidepressants prescriptions have risen by a third amongst 13 - 19 year olds since 2020.

Pathways to Resilience is passionate about helping this change and in the three years since we launched our programmes and workshops, we have seen an incredibly positive impact. Children and adolescents have fed back to us that they have vastly improved sleep, experienced less anger, more tolerance (of siblings in particular!) and an expanded willingness and ability, for those that were struggling, to attend school.

We whole-heartedly know that Pathways to Resilience can have a significant impact on the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents, and so do parents and carers:

“Excellent, very beneficial. Every child should be able to do this, reduce burden on the NHS budgets and support mental health.” Parent feedback

East Hampshire District Council saw value in what we were offering and, last year, we received 3 years worth of funding to take our children’s programmes and parent/carer workshops, free of charge, into the community of East Hampshire. The feedback we have received has been overwhelming, showing that there is an urgent need for it. This fuels our vision to reach as many communities as possible across the U.K. with this life changing work. However, we can only do that with a big injection of cash! Therefore, you meet us at this pivotal point where we need vital funds to make this happen.

If you are able to make a donation, no matter how big or small, it will be gratefully received by the Pathways to Resilience Team. We understand that times are hard for many at the moment so if you would like to help in another way you could do so by sharing what we are doing within your community, organising your own fundraising event for Pathways to Resilience or offering any fundraising knowledge and guidance.
