Story
The UK government claims that cannabis has no medicinal value.
This is a lie easily disproved by the ever growing mountain of research and scientific evidence.
Cannabis has been consumed as a medicine for thousands of years. Many, many sick people across the UK stand to benefit from consuming cannabis for many ailments. MS, Cancer, Chronic Pain, IBD, Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, PTSD, Anxiety and Depression to name but a fraction of the ailments documented to be treatable with cannabis.
On October 10th Paul Flynn (MP for Newport) will be raising a bill in the commons for the legal regulation of cannabis as a medicine. He has called for patients to join him on the lawns at parliament to break the law & consume cannabis. We are answering his call!
We MUST legalise and regulate cannabis for the many sick and dying people who need it!
Stand with us!
All funds raised will go into organising placards, billboards, banners and possibly paying for transport to and from the protest for those who find travel difficult or who cannot afford to come. No funds will be spent on anything illegal.

7 years agoSo the protest was a HUGE success. The bill passed and goes on to it's 2nd reading in late February. Check out the UPA Facebook page for details. We spent a totally of £3500 with a few things still to pay for and so far we've raised just over an incredible £2000. Of course we would love to have covered all our expenses so we can start organising the next protest asap with no dent in our funds. On that note, you have one more day to donate to this fundraiser before it ends. Please give generously. Thank you!

7 years agoThank You! To everyone who has donated in this first week! How to update you in 550 characters? Billboards are out: Too expensive and not targeted. Instead we are funding an online campaign and hiring a PR professional to get us on to as many mainstream media stations as possible in the run up to the event. We are certain we will get more promotional value for our money this way. Flyers, placards, tea and cake, transport to and from are all in the works. Keep donating, keep sharing. Check out the event on FB for a video update later today!

United Patients Alliance
City of Westminster, UK
People across the UK are criminalised for consuming cannabis to treat their illnesses. The United Patients Alliance was founded to represent the interests of these patients and to call attention to the injustice of prosecuting individuals for consuming a medicine that works..
