My brother Pat had a large stroke a couple of weeks ago. He was saved by an immediate operation. Pat is a well known photographer who has been in the music industry for years and has photographed some of the biggest names. He is now going to need a lot of time to make a recovery, but the early signs are very encouraging. As a freelancer he never earned much money and relied on his ability to keep working. We are raising money to tide him over the next year and to be in a position to buy any specialist equipment he needs and to provide specialist high level care to help his recovery. We also want to be able to make any adaptations to his flat so he can return to independent living as soon as possible. It is early days but we know we have a long road ahead.
