Story

Patreece Bell is a Manx Rugby player who attends Castle Rushen High School. He is a member of the Isle of Man u18s VII's squad along with being a key part of the Sale Sharks Academy during the last two seasons.

Patreece has been managing both his academics and his travel to and from Manchester for Sale Sharks training and games. Patreece is now turning his focuses on how best to both logistically and financially support his involvement in the Premiership Club's Academy for the 2020/21 season & beyond. The amount he is looking to raise is a minimum to either cover travel from the Isle of Man for a number of training sessions and games or to support moving his day-to-day and education closer to Sale Sharks. The more money he raises, the greater the opportunities he can make and support. Patreece's long term goal is to play professional and international rugby. Isle of Man Rugby Development Officer and Sale Sharks Developing Player Programme Site Manager, Chris Brannigan, said,

Patreece is a great kid and has shown tremendous commitment to working towards his long term goals already. He is a talented rugby player, but has impressed me most with his desire to improve and take opportunities. I was really impressed when he told me about his plan to raise funds to reach his goals, especially coming from a 16 year old boy, it shows great maturity. I am delighted to be able to help Patreece however I can.

In order to reach his target, Patreece knew he was going to have to do something fairly spectacular and that's exactly what he has gone for. Patreece will be rowing the distance from Port Erin to the Sale Sharks training ground in Carrington (172.69km) on a concept rower in a 24 hour period over one weekend. For those that have ever rowed, you will appreciate how challenging this will be. The event will take place at Body Craft Fitness, Castletown Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July.

All monies raised are solely for the above cause and will be managed and allocated by Isle of Man Rugby.
