Story

Polegate Community Centre: We are a community Centre serving the Polegate and surrounding areas. We are self sufficient and receive no assistance from the Local or Regional authorities. We raise money by letting the premises to groups and private hires Currently the cost of running the community centre is in the region of £90,000 per year We have been successful in the past to receive grants for the major items necessary to improve and update the centre with priority to improving our carbon footprint. The Centre will be 50 years old next year. We are proud of our Centre and would like to bring the facilities up to standard. We have raised funds for the Disabled Toilet and the Gents toilets will undergo refurbishment this August. To bring the complete centre up to date we would like to improve the Ladies toilets before the anniversary celebrations next year.

The centre caters for the 2 year old toddlers to the Senior Citizens, we have Well Being groups, Dementia Groups/Cafe. The Pilates, yoga and Zumba for the more mature members, together with groups covering Gardening, Wine and Social, Drama, Short Mat Bowls; and MS group. The young are catered for in the Dance Groups, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

The Centre is well used and we need to keep the facilities fit for purpose. Your help would be greatly appreciated by all the users of the Community Centre
