I've raised £3000 to To support Roots of Hope Foundation, who provide basic skills to girls in a Ugandan community, where girls are oppressed, often sexually.

Story

Roots of Hope Foundation provides basic vocational skills to girls in the Kasese district of Western Uganda. This will give them the opportunity of some independence, and will sow the seeds of change to re-balance their society. Currently girls are largely destined for domestic work, and do not complete schooling, often because of marriage or pregnancy, both of which mostly arise from degrees of pressure which can be atrocious.

I have previously given to this charity because they have an excellent mission which will reach beyond the specific girls who benefit over time. It is managed by volunteers and is a very efficient and effective return on even a small donation.

The lady behind it is from the area herself and managed to get a degree, yet has chosen to give back to the rest of her community

Planning one more half marathon in early April, in part as inspiration (which I desperately need) and anyway, I do hope you can give something to this very worthy cause.

Full reports will follow.

Thank you one advance and in hope.
