Story
We are looking to raise the nessecary amount to cover the medical cost's of air ambulance repatriation for my brother Chris who has been involved in a serious car accident in Malta.
My brother requires specialist lung trauma treatment which only a handful of hospitals across Europe offer however his insurance company have refused cover on a technical loophole.
My brother served in the British Armed Forces and toured both Afghanistan and Northern Ireland during his time in the Army he witnessed things which have haunted him ever since namely seeing a close friend lose his life in battle. Since leaving the Armed Forces my brother has battled depression and self confidence issues all which led him to struggle to live a normal civilian life.
We encouraged him to pursue a new life in Malta based on him falling in love with the island while on holiday. we wanted him to meet new people and wake up everyday with a smile and purpose in life and to help him try to forget the past and look forward by doing the things he loved like talking to people getting to know others, sightseeing and fishing.
This past few weeks has been a complete nightmare for all of our family and friends and I want to try help my brother get the best care and treatment he deserves we are also concerned for the impact on our mum who isn't in the best of health herself but refuses to leave his bedside.
I'm reaching out to people who have been in a similar position, to ex service men and to the wonderful and caring people who regularly donate to good causes to help me to help my brother and family
It's hard to accept that a persons life should be put in jeopardy by money and technical legal loopholes we are all human and everyone deserves the chance to live.
