I am walking the Yorkshire three peaks on July 15th to raise funds for our local charity. My whole family is involved with Pendle RDA but want to do more.

ABOUT THE CHARITY: Pendle RDA provides horse riding lessons for disabled adults and children, They work with individuals, schools, care homes, rehab units, colleges and universities. They provide therapy via highly trained coaches who achieve proven results with 184 riders aged 2 to 94 who have a cross section of learning & physical disabilities.

WHAT THEY NEED: They already have a number of local schools accessing their riding facility and would like to expand this, to allow people with extremely profound disabilities to enjoy the sport of horse-riding, which is why funding will enable them to install an overhead hoist to help their riders to be able to mount up on the “mechanical horse.”

Many riders come to them via pediatric referrals. Local sport development and clubs will be able to access this special facility as well as special needs schools, residential homes and local colleges where they have existing relationships in many cases. This unique development will make a lasting difference to the quality of life in our community!
