Story
On the 9th September 21 DELL EMC employees and partners from the manufacturing and utilities sector & DellEMC Manchester will be completing the EPIC endurance event that is Tough Mudder. Some say this is even more challenging than a QBR! (I’m not so sure).
Our Tough Mudder Nutters are fundraising for 10 year old Max, the son of Paul Bailey.
12 miles of mud and obstacles, testing mental and physical strength. All to fund Max’s life saving therapies in America. Now an essential annual fundraiser - it guarantees one of his four critical therapy trips to America each year.
Max needs surgery to prevent his collapsing spine from becoming life threatening. Here in the UK it means inserting metal rods along the length of his spine. It's nasty, invasive surgery leaving a scar the full length of his back. He will require repeated surgeries every 3 to 6 months to lengthen the rods through his growth spurts for around 7 years. Ultimately he'll likely require his spine fused solid and be left with life-long disability and pain management.
America has dedicated, multi-disciplinary Scoliosis Care Centres addressing physical, neurological and genetic influences. This holistic approach aims to prevent surgery. With that knowledge, the UK’s barbaric and irreversible surgery, with life-long problems is simply not an option.
Max has been travelling to America for 18 months. He saw immediate and amazing results, and continues to improve. We must continue to fund his trips until we can bring these innovative therapies to the UK to help Max and many more children.
Please support your heroic colleagues, friends and family in this epic event.
Best regards,
Paul Bailey.
