Story

On September 30th 2018 I will be doing the Standstone Trail 10 mile run in rural Cheshire. For anyone that knows me knows that I don't do running so this will be a serious challenge for me.

All the money from the sponsorship will go the the Mind Blue Light programme within NWAS (North West Ambulance Service - where I work) as the Mind Blue Light programme is closing and internalising this year.

For those of you who don't know, the mind blue light programme was set up to support emergency service workers with their mental health. They found in a survey that 1 in 4 emergency service personnel suffer a mental ill health episode in their career at some point. The project is all about ridding the stigma surrounding mental health in the emergency services and supporting colleagues in what is already a stressful job, coming to terms with not just work, but their family lives and beyond.

As champions, we aim to rid the stigma support all our staff in their mental wellbeing and make sure people feel happy to, and are encouraged to talk freely about how they are feeling.

Please donate as much as you can. This challenge is a big challenge for me, but I hope to raise as much as I can so our vital support for staff can continue above and beyond when the mind programme finishes.
