Story
Good afternoon everyone I hope your all doing good in the present times. I'd like to tell you a little story about who Ben Parkinson M.B.E. and myself would like to raise money for this year.
Some 20 odd years ago I was a care assistant for 13yrs at D.M.B.C.in total and met some interesting characters, one in particular was a Polish Gentleman called STANISLAW WADAS. He left his home, family and friends in Poland to join British forces in particular the R.A.F. He fought in the Battle of Britain.
When I spoke to him about it he told me some horrific stories. Anyway I was one of the lucky few people who went to his funeral in 1998, it truly was a honour to be there for him. I've thought about Stanislaw over the years gone bye and I've decided to do something for him. After quite a lot of research and digging I've managed to find his grave at Rose Hill in Doncaster. He has no headstone and has had no visitors, well I am going to change that. For a Man who gave up everything to fight for his country and ours I'm going to buy him a headstone. So he will never be forgotten for his Great Service and Sacrifice. Stanislaw told me one of the Generals at the end of WW2 asked him what he was looking forward to now the War was over, Stanislaw replied I just want to go Home to my Family, Friends and My Great Country POLAND 🇵🇱. Where upon the General said, You can't go Home Stanislaw no Polish can. Because Russia had gone back on their word any Polish returning Home would have been executed as traitors and cowards... of which None of them were, they were very Brave Soldiers and Airmen ❤️🇵🇱. When I told Ben, his Mum Diane and Andy of this story they said straight away they would open the account with a donation of £250, because this is the reason why they set up Bens own charity. They explained that Ben has received so much love and support from the people of Doncaster that Ben wants to do stuff for the people of Doncaster as a way of saying thank you for everything you have done for him, he said he just wants to give back to you all. I'm in the process of organising a Headstone, I've spoken to the managers at Rose Hill and they have said because of the cause it is for they will waver the usual cost of putting down a Headstone as well. I'm hoping to lay the Headstone on November 11th at 11am... my friend is coming to play The Last Post, also their will be members of the Polish community attending... I'm hoping to have Diane Dernie set up a just giving page for me in a few days, but if you would like to make a donation I'm more than willing to come and collect it from anywhere... sorry it's a long Post but Stanislaw Wadas is worth it for all he did for each and everyone of us... Thanks my friends Lets Make Sure This Brave Polish Man is Remembered Fittingly ...
