Story

Gary Hunter sadly passed away on the evening of Friday 22nd May, with his family by his bedside, after a short illness.

Gary was the heartbeat of Woodlands United Football Club for 35 years and, even after he stood down as chairman last year, he could still be found on the touchline every Sunday morning helping out. Gary’s love for football led him to qualifing as an excellent referee and he refereed at various levels of the game.

The only thing Gary loved more then football and Chelsea FC was his family, he was a loving husband to Gill, proud father to Stacey, Katie & Ellie and devoted grandfather to Harry & George. Gary was also loyal to his closest friends, Andy & Sharon Brown, and both families enjoyed many happy times together.

Gary made lasting impressions on everybody he met, with his quick wit and humour, but it was his kind, generous, dedication and loyalty, made him the great and lively character which was loved and respected by so many people.

We are making this collection to help with funeral costs, flowers and anything other costs that may arise, so please give what you can.
