Story
I never thought I would be writing something like this about the woman I love.
Lisa is my partner. She’s the strongest person I know. Many of you see her smile,, her music, her determination — but behind all of that is someone who has lived a life of resilience from the very beginning.
When Lisa was just six weeks old, she suffered severe abuse that left her with lifelong disabilities. Everything her body has endured since started there. None of it was her choice — it was something she survived.
She has spent her entire life adapting, pushing forward, and refusing to let her past define her future.
But now we are facing something we can’t simply “push through.”
Lisa has severe scoliosis, and her spine has deteriorated to the point where it is beginning to impact her lung function. If this continues, it could lead to serious organ complications. This is no longer about pain or mobility — this is about protecting her ability to breathe and safeguarding her future.
We have explored every possible avenue through the NHS, but the surgery she now needs cannot be provided.
Lisa is a mum of three.
Our youngest is still a little boy navigating autism and ADHD. He needs his mum. Not just now — but for years to come.
Her two older children are now adults, and she wants to be there to see them get married, build their lives, and reach their milestones.
And selfishly — I want to grow old with her. I want more holidays together. More memories. More ordinary days that we too often take for granted.
She already uses a motorised wheelchair. She already faces daily health challenges with strength and dignity. But this surgery is something we cannot ignore.
The funds raised will go towards:
• Specialist spinal surgical consultation
• The spinal operation
• Hospital and theatre costs
• Post-operative care and rehabilitation
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, we are truly grateful.
If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this page would mean more than you know.
I’m asking for help because I want the woman I love to have the chance to grow old.
I want our children to have their mum.
I want her to be able to breathe freely and live without this hanging over her.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Thank you for standing with us.
