ROMINA'S HELPING HAND FUNDRAISING APPEAL EDITED
Romina is a 14 years old Girl from Peru, who was diagnosed with an Aneurysmal Bone Cyst, Patricia and Paul. (Her aunt and uncle from UK)were devastated and despite their distance, living more than six thousand miles away in Bradford, they were determined to do all they could to help their family. On last July 6th Paul hosted a Helping Hand benefit cabaret show at Low Moor Club, where was raised over £2000, It helped Romina and her parents to pay for the 11 hour operation she had to undergo to replace her spine with titanium plaques that avoids Romina may have been paralysed. Unlike the UK, the family don’t have access to free healthcare and Romina’s parents have been forced to take out a loan to fund the £32,000 procedure.However, it was a price they were willing to pay for the sake of their daughter’s health.“Romina is a very sweet 14-year-old girl and she has shown to be very brave and a strong girl,” she says. “We hope she makes a full recovery back to life even with some limitations, at least she’s got a life.”Unfortunately after three months there was a recurrence of other Cyst and Doctors recommended another operation even with a risk of Infection and Nerve Injury plus a Radiotherapy Robotic treatment called Cyberknife, that it is only available In USA and The Harley Clinic at London,But all this would cost £82,000.
