Weʼve raised £120 to buy wildflower seed mix to create a wildflower meadow at the Potsford Dam part of the greenway. This will benefit butterflies and bees.

Story
The Potsford Dam part of the greenway is the gateway from the countryside to a more urban environment. I would like to create an area that looks fantastic but also works well for butterflies, bees and other pollinators. We already have a couple of picnic benches in this area and I just think that if we work hard to create a wildflower meadow then the benefit for wildlife will be fantastic. Also, the benefit for local residents will be equally great. Just imagine popping down for a picnic and sitting in such a rich and beautiful environment. £112 will buy 2kg of wildflower meadow seeds and 100g of yellow rattle seed. This will be enough to cover over 500 square meters of ground. This will be the main focus of our winter works programme on Cawston Greenway this year.
