Story

I feel blessed that I have caring family and friends, a good job and a nice home to live in. I am sure many of you can relate to this. However, life isn't always this good for many people and I feel the need to help one of my friends who is finding it really hard to make ends meet and facing being evicted from her home of over 20 years. I want to try and raise enough money to clear the rental arrears that is causing much distress.

My friend is a single mum, who works hard but struggling to keep a roof over the head of her and her 15 year old daughter. Court date is looming large and possible eviction from family home. I am sure there are lots of people out there in a similar position and can empathise with this situation. Dealing with debt is not a nice position to be in and even harder when you on your own and trying to provide for loved ones. She needs to raise some cash quick to pay off her rental arrears which have grown recently as she has struggled to pay her bills and also had a recent time off sick, but back at work now.

I do strongly believe charity begins at home, in our own back yards and I am hoping that I can help raise some cash to clear the rental arrears or at least make a contribution so that the courts look favourably on the pending case. If you have never been in this position you will have no idea how this feels and I would not want any of my friends to be in this position.

The other reason I want to help is for her daughter, who is a good friend  of my eldest daughter. She is a great kid, got her GCSE coming up next year and really does not need her mum feeling the stress of financial worries and potential homelessness. She is a lovely girl and asks for nothing.

It will be a great shame if family and friends cann't help raise money to help. It will be a disaster if my friend is made homeless, where will she go and who will pay? its horrible to think about really.

All money raised will be used to pay off the rent arrears
