I've raised £2000 to support serving and veteran Royal Marines and their families - WE DID IT!!!

RMA POOLE HARBOUR YOMP - 6 JULY 2024
To celebrate the 360th anniversary of the Royal Marines and raise monies for serving Royal Marines, veterans, and their families, members of the of the Royal Marines Association, Poole & District Branch (RMA-PDB) plan to “Yomp” around Poole harbour anti-clockwise starting and finishing from the Joint Services memorial in Poole Falklands square.
Whilst it's my brain-child, a number of Poole RMA members have also come forward to join the ranks and make this an even bigger effort – well done! The 26 miles “Yomp” will take place on Saturday 6th July and will commence early to capitalise on daylight for the “Yompers”. John Seymour and Sharkey are kindly providing support en-route.
Whilst the objective is to complete the whole 26 miles as an individual, some members will team up to share the miles out! Whichever way we complete the “Yomp” we are asking for your help to support us with your generous contributions to spur us on and make as much money as possible to for Royal Marines, veterans and families in need.
Since retirement in 2017 I have enjoyed being a part of the RMA. After becoming involved in welfare matters and training as an RMA Support Volunteer I have witnessed the superb support The Royal Marines Charity (TRMC) provides to us all in time of need. However, I have also recognised that sometimes an immediate cash inject is needed to help a dependent in need. To this end our fund raising aim is to both provide funds direct to TRMC but also to generate funds for emergency use by Welfare at RMA Poole branch level.
So, let’s pray for fine weather a fair wind and maximum day light. Thank you in advance to family, friends and everyone who knows us for your support and donations.
