Pip is a 1 year old border collie. She is a much loved family pet and is a great friend to our other collie Osh. Three weeks ago she returned home after an afternoon walk with what appeared to be some kind of chemical on her neck and back. We washed this off but her health deteriorated quickly. She developed terrible absesses and needed two operations where a large amount of damaged skin needed to be removed. We thought we would lose her but after each op. she returns to her loving, bright, self. We can't believe her resilience. Our vets at Two Rivers in Biggar assures us Pip is not in pain. However, her full recovery will need funds that we do not have..the crisis ops and care have taken all our savings. This initial bill was two thousand pounds. Her ongoing care is intensive with her bandages needing to be changed every three days and more operations in due time. Each bandage change costs around one hundred pounds. She is never bad tempered and trots happily to the vets on her leash each time she is due for a change. I cannot understand for such a young pup that her bright mood and loving nature has not missed a beat through all of this treatment. I am selling all I can including my bikes to raise funds so that we continue her care but hoped that any contributions will make this more sustainable.
