Story

I am starting this Fundraiser for Paul Stephens aka Glammy Paul as I cannot bear to watch him suffering and in distress despite him still doing his best to keep a smile on his face. I was not asked to do this, I offered.

What started with a fairly common diagnosis of Diabetes in no time, drastically escalated. Without getting into too much detail, Glammy is now spending a lot of time in hospital, he had his toes amputated, his liver is leaking and he has a blood clot on his lung. This is an absolute tragic situation and the prognosis is that he has up to 2 years to live…He is in constant pain and discomfort. He has gone through a lot already and it’s ongoing.

He doesn’t have much quality of life at the moment and of course is unable to work which adds to his already long list of problems.

The money raised would be used to pay for anything that could make Glammy’s life more comfortable, whether it is a mobility scooter or being able to pay a nurse to empty the fluid in his liver when the hospital cancels his appointment at the last minute (!), or anything else to help him with his care and daily life. Depending on how much is raised, it could also help him not fall into arrears with his mortgage payments.

I realise there is a recession and money is tight at the moment but I am hoping that we can all help a friend in need, everything adds up, no matter how big or small the amount. Glammy has always been the life and soul of the party and has cheered us all up and made us all laugh either at him or with him, it would be nice to do something for him. I’m sure a lot of people will feel good helping him out.

Please take a look at the photos, showing a rather handsome-ish (debatable I know) Glammy to the left (I took this photo only a few years ago) and how he is now. A picture is worth a thousand words. Please give generously if you can. 😊
