Story

Classroom Construction Update: Shuttering/Ring Beam Stage Underway (Photographs to follow).

We are excited to announce that we have purchased the building materials for the shuttering/ring beam stage of the Chizungu School classroom construction project. This milestone marks a significant step forward in our efforts to improve the educational infrastructure in the local community. With the materials in place, we eagerley await the commnecmenet of the ring beam construction work by the builders, which will bring us closer to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for the students of Chizungu.

Investing in Education.

Imire is committed to investing in the education and future of the local community, and our recent donation (by a volunteer wishing to remain anonymous) of Happy Reader studying books to Chizungu Primary School is just one example of this commitement. These books provide a solid foundation for litearcy development and will help students build a strong foundation in reading and comprehension. We are proud to be able to support the educational journey of the students at Chizungu School through your generous donations. Thank you from all the studenst at Chizungu School.

BIG UPDATE - we've reached 27% of our target. Thanks to all our donors and supporters, the fundraising for the Chizungu School project has surpassed Bev's and my expectations. Thank you so much. Please pass the word around your families and friends. Every little will help. £1 or US$1 goes a long way.

So here are a few photgraps of a recent art class "supervised" by our current volunteers taking place in the derelict farm house substituting classrooms!

At Chizungu Primary School, Hwedza (near Imire Rhino and Wildlife Conservancy, https://www.imire.co.zw/volunteer/), Zimbabwe.

A large number of the 200 children walk over 5 kilometres to be educated in an insecure, derelict farmhouse. Volunteers of Imire would like to fund the building of a new two classroom block so all the children are educated on the same premises and rejuvenate the existing 2 classrooms by securing the external windows, doors and storeroom allowing for the safe storage of educational material, reading scheme and equipment.
