Story

18 Months ago I was told I was fit for work after an ESA assessment. I then decided to work on my confidence and self esteem by finding somewhere I could volunteer. With the help of The Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership I found a place on HMS Unicorn, to help with marketing and promoting the ship and the events held on her.

The Partnership helped with travelling expenses for the first 3 months and my confidence started to raise as I felt at home on the ship and working with the staff.

After the the 3 months I started to struggle finding money so I could travel to the ship, only being able to do the occasional event flyer and sending it by email.

May 17th of this year I received more funding from Project Scotland, again for 3 months, which runs out in July.

I've decided to do this crowd funding so I don't need to go searching for funding and so I can go to the ship which will raise my confidence, self esteem and will allow me to build skills for when I'm ready to go back to work.
