    Story

In 1984 the Chernobyl disaster happened, it affected the lives of millions of adults and children, and still is today. 16 years ago my wife and I hosted two young girls as part of a charity The Chernobyl Childrens Project. These children had been born after the disaster, and both were suffering from the effects of radiation poisening. Now in adulthood we have learnt that one of the women has had her cancer return, and is in danger of losing her arm and shoulder. There is hope, as a German surgeon can save her limbs, but the surgery is 26000.00 euros. Olga only has her mother left, she is in her mid sixties and has struggled as an only mother all Olga's life Her father left when Olga was born and he saw her disabilities.
