Story
Hi I'm Paul,
I'm 41, self-employed and a single parent to two great children.
This is the most difficult letter I have ever written and I apologise for asking but I feel I have no choice.
Last week whilst at work I had an accident which severed two tendons and a nerve in my wrist, I received an emergency operation to repair my injuries successfully thanks to our great NHS.
Fortunately I should make a full recovery in 4 to 12 months. Unfortunately I couldn't afford the premiums of personal insurance and being self-employed I don't receive any kind of sickness pay.
My timing for this accident could not have been worse with Christmas looming as well as other financial commitments.
