Great Wakering Colts Football Club has been given the opportunity to be the lead football club at the proposed new 3G / all weather facility at Shoebury High School. This is a fantastic opportunity for the club as it will allow us to secure a more permanent base for all our teams, as well as providing us with the security of being able to play matches regardless of the weather. We have all been impacted by the terrible weather recently with lots of games being called off.

To secure the lead club status, Great Wakering Colts is looking to raise external funds of £10,000 to contribute to the overall cost of the new facilities. Whilst this may sound like a sizeable sum, the scheme is projected to cost over £1m and will provide a fantastic resource for the local community that can be used by many other local groups for various sporting activities and events.

Many of you will be aware of how difficult it is to secure high quality playing facilities in our area. Securing the lead club status at Shoebury High School is an opportunity that will not come around again, so the committee of Great Wakering Colts is extremely keen to raise the funds to make this happen.
