This picture of me, my mum and my dad was taken the morning of my wedding 6 weeks ago. It was the happiest day of my life although for my dad he struggled through to give me away. He was suffering with what we all thought was a bad back, little did we know only 1 week after this picture our whole world would be turned upside down. My dad had been for an xray 2 days before my wedding and the results of this showed a 8 cm tumour growing in his lung, following this we learnt he also had a secondary tumour on his spine which fractured 2 vertebrates. It is heartbreaking to know my amazing dad struggled through my big day with a broken back and still walked me down the aisle.

Other than this news my dad had otherwise been fit, healthy and active however within the following 2 weeks the damaged vertebrates had put pressure on his spinal cord causing him so much pain he had to be admitted to hospital and went for a operation to have the vertebrates fused together, and although his pain has now eased slightly he has now lost the sensation in his legs and is now using a wheelchair, we have also had to rehouse my dad as his home was no longer accessible for him.

Nhs have refused my dad any chemotherapy at this stage, surgery is not an option so for the family we don't feel like we have any left. This was until we heard about immunotherapy treatment not available yet through the Nhs, we are hoping to raise the funds for the very expensive treatment in specialised clinics in Germany.

Donations will be used to give my dad a fighting chance to survive, to see his grandchildren grow, to visit places he always planned to visit, to make sure he makes his 50 year anniversary with his soul mate..my mum
Most importantly to give him hope at what seems like such a hopeless time. This is a massive ask of peoples generosity but this man truly deserves a fighting chance, he has spent 46 years as a devoted husband, worked so hard all his life and has been a general hero to us all
