Story

Sometimes in life bad things happen to good people and it's heartbreaking to see. I could write on and on about all the lovely things the Davies family are, but I would simply be unable to do it justice.

Growing up Ian Davies (aka jill and niks dad, aka the headstand king, aka Big I.D.) was always the cool parent who would do anything for us. In fact, to this day he still does anything he can for anyone. This is exactly the reason why I am now asking for you to help me help him.

Last summer Ian was diagnosed with Motor Nuerone Disease (MND) which is a dibilitating muscle wasting disease which currently has no cure. With no care plan available, Ian has already become wheelchair bound and feels his arms weakening. A truly heartbreaking condition.

Recently Ian was offered a glimmer of hope learning of an MND Specialist in the US (Dr Richard Bedlack), who leads a team that is relentlessly pursuing a cure. Although there is not yet a known cure, we are raising funds for Ian to travel to the US in June for tests and treatments. This will ultimately enable the development of a specific care plan which will focus on slowing the progression of symptoms.

I am running the Edinburgh Marathon on the 27th of May and would love it if together we can raise money to cover the trip and the care plan. I would be so incredibly grateful for any donation you can offer no matter how small.

Please help me to help a hero. 💪

Thank you so much
