£605raised of £500 target by 38 supporters

Weʼve raised £605 to support Paulette Wilson, a grandmother from Wolverhampton who has lived in the UK for fifty years, but is threatened with deportation.

Funded on Sunday, 14th January 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

Paulette has lived in the UK since she was ten years old, worked here all her life, and raised a family. She has now been told she is an illegal immigrant, has had her benefits stopped, and is relying on the generosity of friends and neighbours to get by while she fights her case. Pauline lives in Wolverhampton, and we're holding a benefit there to raise money for her. This crowdfunding page is an opportunity for people further afield to support her.

This morning, the great news that Paulette is no longer under the threat of deportation. Thank you to everyone who supported her, came to the benefit gig, and gave via this page. Some good news to start the day. :-)

Thanks to everyone who's donated to this so far – it's been incredible and heartwarming to see the response to this appeal. After last night's benefit gig, which Paulette and her daughter Natalie came to, it's really clear how much it means to them that people they've never met are taking the time to offer help and show they stand with them.

So angry and ashamed as an ordinary brit to follow Pauline’s story. Relieved to hear she is safe from deportation. Our system is rotten - hope this small donation helps

Disgraceful actions by Home Office and its Tory masters. A full apology and compensation must be due for such idiocy.
