Story
We are setting up this page in support of Kieran Lamond and his family. We are trying to raise money to help the family cope financially during this extremely difficult time. We also want to raise awearness of the importance of wearing protective gear whilst using bikes scooters and other moving toys. Even if you are not able to contribute financially sharing this page will bring comfort to the family to try get their message across.
Kieran is a happy healthy 14 year old boy from blairgowrie. On the 8th of October Kieran was on his way back from getting shopping for his family when he came off his bike hitting the pavement at full force. Kieran was not wearing a helmet. The quick thinking of a local woman who saw the incident happen, called for an ambulance and administered first aid. Even though the ambulance reached him in about 5 minuets, we didn't think he would survive his fall. Kieran got a CT scan then rushed into theatre where he needed 3 blood clots removed from his brain. Later he was moved into the intensive care unit but the next few hours would be critical. His parents were told to prepare for the worst.
The little fighter that Keiran is has managed to hold on. Currently he is still in intensive care, he has had to have his lungs drained of fluid after swallowing blood and sick. He is sedated to try give his body a fighting chance. Doctors are working round the clock to keep him alive but we believe he can do it, he is a fighter but he needs as much support as he can.
We do not know how damaged Keiran body will be, only time can tell. But what we do know if it wasn't for the immediate reactions by the first person on the scene and the amazing medical attention he recieved Kieran would not be hear.
Please please make sure u tell your kids to wear helmets as this outcome could of been the opposite;-(
Any help is greatly appreciate for the family and please share as much as you can . We appreciate all your help and support at this devasting time
