This is the one time that we fundraise for costs to keep the hub part of the community work at The Station going - every penny that comes in through donations other than on this appeal goes directly to front line supplies and support. We don't take running costs out of any of that and we are all volunteers here.

The Station opens as a community hub every day of the year, operating as a pub on Friday, Saturday and Sunday each week, but working solely as a hub from Monday through to Friday. Every day we open the door at noon to offer packed lunches and wherever possible hot meals to those who are homeless or in food poverty, signposting people to further support that can help them into shelter. For so many of them, they really don't even know where to start to get the help that they so desperately need and the stepping stone from here into support for homelessness, debt, abuse or mental health issues can really help them to turn their lives around.....we are family for those who don't have anyone else to turn to.

As well as all this, The Station as a hub provides so much more, counselling sessions run here on Wednesdays, health support including vaccinations in partnership with front line health teams, weekly Rough Sleepers outreach sessions and help to link with so many of the professional partners and statutory teams who can work with those who are vulnerable, isolated and often very afraid.

While the pub supports itself at weekends, this fundraiser is to support the remainder of the work that we do here as a hub, paying the rent for the days where we are working solely for the community and we are honestly needed more now than ever.

If I could keep this going without asking for this help, then I really would, but the reality is that without support to keep this going, then we would have to turn so many people away.
