Kathy Pearson lost a 4 year battle to breast cancer on the 7th May 2019. Despite being told last March she had 6-12 months left she fought valiantly, looking into alternative treatment methods and maintaining an integral bond with her loved ones during such a trying time. Her loving family was able to provide her with a peaceful passing.

Kathy spread warmth into the lives of the people around her. When I was battling a severe mental illness, Kathy and her family welcomed me into their home without question. They showed me love and respect and even arranged the arrival of a support dog whilst I recovered. I am forever in their debt for the kindness they showed me. She was one of the most beautiful and selfless individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and this corner of the world was always a little lighter in her presence.

It is my wish to relieve the family of a little pressure regarding the high price of the funeral costs. They wish to honour Kathy's memory in the most perfect manner, with a beautiful dragon urn shipped internationally, a satin and oak coffin and a wake to remember. It was her wish to have a day of celebration, and we will all be appropriately wearing the colour yellow. Should friends desire, or they are unable to join us in the celebration of her life, contributions towards making her day perfect would be greatly appreciated. The family have chosen St Peters and St James hospice to receive any proceeds after the exceptional job they did during her final weeks, and there will also be an opportunity to give to the charity on the day.
