Story

On Sunday 23rd September 2018, PC Claire Bond was injured whilst at work. She was just doing the job she loves to do.

At approximately 11am she tried to stop a male in a vehicle who was causing a danger to members of the public, including those running in the Stafford 10k run.

In her determination to stop this male and protect others, she was struck by his car, causing her severe injuries to both her legs. She could have been killed had it not been for her colleague at the time.

Claire is currently in hospital. Having already had one operation she is expecting a second one any day to try and repair her badly broken legs.

The male responsible was detained and put before the courts but we all know there is no punishment suitable for what he has done.

The hospital have advised her family to expect her injuries may be life changing.

Claire has got a long road to recovery. She's the strongest person I know so if anyone can beat this it will be her.

This lady is my best friend and anyone who knows her will agree that she is truly an amazing woman. She would do anything to help anyone she meets.

Claire and her husband have two beautiful young children who can't understand why anyone would want to hurt their mum.

People have shown Claire an overwhelming amount of love and support since this happened which brings her great comfort.

People have asked me about collections and donations. There are only so many flowers you can look at, and in true Claire style - she wouldn't want people wasting their money on something that is just going to die!! I have therefore set up this page to help Claire and her family with initial costs to help with her treatment and recovery process.... and maybe even a little something nice to look forward to with her family when she's recovered.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery Claire Bear
