On Monday 19th December 2016 a Christmas charity run is taking place to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Birmingham Women's Hospital.

The NICU at BWH is an incredible unit where the staff work tirelessly to ensure that the premature and full-term poorly babies are given the best care. The funding from the NHS doesn't provide them with as much money as they need so it's vital that fundraising takes place to help fund new medical equipment for the unit and also to provide facilities and accommodation for the parents. Our 4 month old daughter Fleur was looked after here for a couple of weeks after birth, as was Danielle's older son Oliver so we would like to give back for the amazing care and support that not only did Oliver and Fleur receive, but for the care and support that was given to us as parents also. Having a baby in the NICU is a very scary time for all parents and any one of us could have a premature baby or a full term baby that's unwell so they really should be supported.

The run will be between 3 to 4 miles long and will take place in Solihull. We want as many people as possible to join us in the run and to get into the Christmas spirit by running in Christmas fancy dress! You could go all out and dress as Santa, or just put some tinsel in your hair. Either way it doesn't matter as long as we are raising money.
