Story
**Target updated**
Due to unbelievable generosity, and with a nudge from JustGiving, we've upped our fundraising target to £800 which would mean that absolutely ALL costs of our performances in Stratford-upon-Avon are covered. **
We are Pegasus Performing Arts, a unique young company of home educated performers from Corby and the local area.
We have been offered an amazing opportunity and need some extra help to reach our fundraising goal to make it happen…
Through previous shows our young performers have caught the eye of The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). They were so impressed with their work that they have invited us along with 5 other hand selected companies from across the UK to perform at the Holloway garden theatre in Stratford Upon Avon as part of the RSC's Summer open stage programme, which will provide not only a rare chance for our performers, but also 1000 free seats each weekend of the summer holidays, giving everyone the chance to experience the wonder of the arts.
Many of the children in our group have varying Special Educational Needs/Disabilities or have experienced trauma within the school system.
Pegasus’ founder & artistic director, Kerrie, works with the children to grow their confidence and know their worth through professional creative theatre training whilst covering a variety of subjects.
With Kerrie’s support the children, aged between 9-13, have devised and written their own play ‘Not this tide!’ based on the World War 1 poem ‘My Boy Jack’. As a company they’ve been rehearsing, researching and making props for up to 10 hours a week in preparation for their big day, BUT need some help with a final push on raising funds to cover costs.
