DAVID BARRETT and SIMON HARRIS and NOW A NEW ENTRY MARK RANSON-THOMPSON are ALL running the 2022 Vitality London 10k on 2nd May 2022 to raise much needed funds for PEM Friends.

PEM Friends are a group that was set up in 1999 by Carolyn Blain, who, having experienced the traumas of a rare disease called Pemphigus Vulgaris, wanted to offer support to other PEM Patients or their carers. Carolyn is now the Chair. 

The administration of PEM Friends is done by a team of patients, who are committed and determined people who have been diagnosed with a PEM related rare disease and they desire to help others who are going through the same experience. 

Our funding currently comes from ad hoc or regular donations on a voluntary basis from the members. 

PEM Friends fulfills many functions including: educating patients/families, sharing the illness experience and raising awareness with medical professionals and being involved in research projects.

Although they are focussed on people in the UK who have been diagnosed with either Pemphigus or Pemphigoid, or those who care for them, they are affiliated with other UK organisations and International groups who support them in their goals. 

The Treasurer is Kal Patel, who is also a Pemphigus Vulgaris patient.
