I was recently in Mauritius on my honeymoon where I met and fell in love with a beach stray (who I had named Lady) who had taken up residence at the hotel. I returned home and decided I would look into her welfare and contacted the hotel who informed me that she had been adopted!!!

I knew this was untrue. I was sure she must have been removed by the Hotel. Quite often the hotels poison the animals or call MSAW who then euthanize them!!! So I hoped and prayed this was not the case, and that they had just removed her themselves!

I couldn't stop thinking about her and didn't give up hope of finding her.... and I did just that.

Thank goodness for social media!!! An English lady who currently resides in Mauritius found Lady 7km away, and took her home. She asked the local dog shelter to put her on their facebook page!!! I came across the post during my search and I recognised her immediately and contacted the lady! She had named her Lilly!

I can't believe that despite 1000's of miles and 100's of dogs I had managed to locate this beautiful little dog!!! I believe it's fate!!!

I'm now looking to raise funds to help me get her home to her forever home. Lilly is currently being looked after by the lady who found her and she is also assisting me in getting her ready for her journey to the UK.
