Story
Jim, Dan and Harry are all final year medical students from Brighton and Sussex Medical School. All have a personal interested in PTSD, with first hand experience of the devastating effect it can have on young men and women. With Jim having served in the British military for 10 years and Dan just starting his career as a Surgeon Sub-Lieutenant, it is a charity close to their heart.
Evidence based research has shown that the process of training and preparing for a competitive multi discipline sport, can form an essential part of therapeutic treatment and rehabilitation for sufferers of PTSD.
The foundation was set up specifically to support a Modern Pentathlon event at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on 14 October 2017, and has grown in support. On the 13th October 2018 Jim, Dan and Harry will all be competing in this years event, consisting of swimming, running, pistol shooting, fencing and horse riding!!
It's Harry's second year doing the event and new comers Jim (an Ex Royal Marine Medic) and Dan (a Surgeon Sub-Lieutenant in the Royal Navy), in true medic style, are extremely keen to beat each other!
However, the truth be told their real goal is to reach an ambitious target of raising £9,000 for PentUp to enable PentUp to carry out this amazing work.
So please donate whatever you can, share the page and thank you very much.
