Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised
We on the committee at The Penyffordd and Penymynydd Toddler Group recently organised a first aid course.
On the course we learnt just how very important a defibrillator is if someone goes into cardiac arrest.
We learnt that there is a 10 minute window of survival, that for every minute that passes you are 10% less likely to survive.
So at 2 minutes since a cardiac arrest you have an 80% chance of survival
At 4 minutes a 60% chance of survival
At 8 minutes just a 20% chance of survival
The current response time of an ambulance is between 10-12 minutes! This is by no means a criticism of the hard working and over stretched ambulance service. What it does mean is that the life of someone else may depend on you giving them a shock from a defibrillator!
Now the problem with this is that we don't have one in the village that is easily accessible to everyone.
We have decided to try and fund raise in the hope that the rest of Penyffordd and Penymynydd will understand how vitally important it is to have a defibrillator in our Villages.
All you would do to access it is:
Go to the outdoor cabinet placed outside the Penyffordd War Memorial Institute and grab it, that's it.
You might need this device to save a loved one, a friend, a neighbour, a complete stranger or maybe even yourself... someone might need it to save you.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you give

Thought we'd update you all on our total so far as we are unable to add offline donations to this page We currently have £160.07 donated via previous fund raising pages £116.00 donated via charity pots Therefore our total in the bank is £276.07 Plus the total on here which currently stands at £105 Means we're at £381.07 (minus a small fee the page takes) We only need another £119 to get us to £500 and at that point the Deeside Round Table will donate £500 to our cause....we are so close, please donate what you can, Thank you
